It Involves A Lot Of Initials: HKS USA AFK
By Kevin Whipps
Most car guys have some trouble working out the proper air/fuel ratio for the application they’re running — it’s one of the trickier things to do with an engine. For example, a turbo’d Civic needs a different air/fuel ratio than a blown 454 Chevy, right? HKS makes this new product called the AFK, which stands for Air/Fuel Knock Amp. It produces an audible tone when your engine starts to run lean, and it even comes with a set of headphones for private listening.
Monitoring your engine vitals is important, and a tool like the HKS AFK can save you a block, even if it does have a lot of funny initials.
