The Forgotten Impala: Airride Technologies ‘65-’70 Impala Suspension
By Kevin Whipps
Never once have I heard Dr. Dre talk about cruisin’ in his ‘65, and I don’t think I will anytime soon. Seems like lots of people consider 1964 to be the cutoff for the “cool” Impalas, but fortunately for those of you running in a ‘65-’70 Impala, Airride Technologies ain’t one of them. No, they believe the later Impalas are a scene waiting to happen, so they developed a full-suspension kit for the big-body Chevys.
Up front you can choose between cup kits and shock relocators, or a full upper and lower control arm kit with shockwaves. Out back they even offer a full Coolride kit, or just cups, depending on your budget. Better yet, you can find the ‘65-’70 Impala for pretty cheap. Maybe now’s the time to build one, huh?
