We’re seeing a lot more of the ‘90s Celicas running around car shows and leaving burnt rubber tracks on the avenue. It’s no mystery, either — these things look good and perform just as well. The only down side: Modders have to work hard to make them look and feel like the high-end rides they want.

A list of the mods includes:

  • Spectre Track Racing cold air intake
  • Silicone red hosing
  • Tsudo exhaust
  • Perfomance SuperChip
  • Custom paint (used to be red)
  • Debadged emblems
  • Shaved-off antenna
  • Custom fog lights
  • Invader II full body kit (molded in)
  • Invader II double deck spoiler
  • 19″ D-Force RSX-6 5Zigen rims
  • Hankook Radials K106 tires (LowProfile 35 series)
  • Red underbody neons
  • Red license plate lights
  • Smoke tinted license plate covers
  • Smoke tinted tail lights, turn signals, and fog lights
  • APC racing seats w/ racing seat belts
  • Color-Change gauges
  • Custom carbon fiber shift knob
  • Custom RS-1 tuning pedals
  • JDM steering wheel
  • Matrix floor mats
  • Red dashboard parts
  • Three Red Strobe interior neons
  • Two 12″ Infinity subwoofers
  • Fatmat insulation
  • Double enclosure for subs
  • Mounted fire extinguisher
  • LiveSound sound system
  • Sony Explod CD player
  • Viper security and keyless entry
  • Viper remote start system
  • EZWatchPro hidden security cameras (5)
  • 2,000 Watt two-ch. American Legacy Series amp w/ remote bass control

Why We Like It

This little ’91 Celica looks a little like an RX-7, but slightly more angular. We’re guessing they paid less for the initial buy-in than they would’ve paid for other rides cut from the same sport compact cloth. The owner of this seriously cool rig poured over 16 grand into upgrades and mods — and we must say it looks tight.

What We’d Change

With all the aftermarket gear and body mods, we don’t think there’s a place on this car that the owner hasn’t already been into — but with that said, a turbo kit would be cool.
