Much Needed Love For The Subaru Outback
By Calvin Lewis
Recently Kelly Blue Book’s KBB.com announced their pick for Best New Family Vehicle of 2008: the Subaru Outback. Here at Fulloncustom.com we like Subarus because they’re outstandingly well-built, durable, and fun to drive, and the Outback is no exception.
The Outback serves the same function as an SUV, except it gets decent fuel mileage, and it handles better to boot. It’s usable everyday on the freeways and in the suburbs, but it has the rally DNA to make Joe Shmoe smile on back dirt roads.
Unlike other family-oriented vehicles, the Outback borrows bits and pieces from both a traditional car and a truck. It takes its higher ground clearance, all-wheel drive, and SUV dimensions from trucks, while its low weight, car-like handling, and lower engine fall under the car category.
Of course, safety is the first and last word in any family vehicle — the Outback carries a five-star rating for the driver and front-seat passenger as well as for the rear passengers.
