A VW That Isn’t Cute And Cuddly

Usually Volkswagens inspire cute and happy emotions, but this Touareg painted in military matte green is more hazardous duty than suburban cutie. Lots of companies make civilian vehicles with Rambo alter egos — Land Rover’s Discovery, Hummer’s H1, the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon — and now Volkswagen has the Touareg.
It’s safe to say this military spec VW is a prototype — we couldn’t find any details from VW or insider sources. But the extra antennas, tougher looks, and stripped interior make us want one these babies for civilian life. We hope the cannon is an available option, for the next time we find ourselves stuck in traffic.
