A Death Grip Shifter Knob
By Sean O'Hara
This shifter might be as comfortable as iron maiden jockey shorts, but it’s still cool. The tips on it are rounded slightly so you don’t impale your hand every time you touch it, but other than that it reminds us of a mod you might find on the grim reaper’s ride.
The ball measures 2-5/8” high and 3” wide at the furthest points. And it fits on a ½” shaft locked in place with three set screws and an aluminum collar.
If this matches the theme of your latest project, this spiked-ball mase knob runs about $42. That said, we might recommend something more practical if just as evil: skulls.

Skull shifters? Wow, that’s new and innovative *yawn*.
These however, are a neat idea. Simple, yet fairly original. I could see one of these used for the hand shift on a chopper build.
