Ride of the Day: 2003 Ford Mustang
By Sean O'Hara

With all attention focused on the latest and greatest Mustang generation, it’s easy to forget that the models from just a few years ago — with a few mods — will still smoke your ass on the strip. That’s exactly what John from Ontario had in mind when he built his 2003 Stang dubbed “Northern Dancer.”
Mods include:
- Magnaflow cat back exhaust
- Kooks off road X pipe
- Kooks long tube headers
- Steeda cold air kit
- VT Stage I Cams
- 2000 Cobra R Hood
- Accufab 75 mm throttle body and plenum
- X-Calibrator custom chip (Steeda)
- BBK Underdrive Pulleys
- 4:10 Ring and Pinion
- 28 Spline Moser Axels
- Steeda Sport sring package
- Mickey Thompson 275 40 17 ET Streets (Rear)
- FRPP Subframe Connectors
- FRPP Driveshaft Safety Loop
- Steeda Tri-AX Shifter
- Autometer Silver Monster Tach
- Autometer Silver Guages Mounted on Steeda Assembly
- FRPP Tach Driver
- Paul’s Hi Performance Tach Mount Bracket
Why We Like It
Not to be confused with “Tiny Dancer,” this black-on-black pony will put the hurt on you with 12 second quarter-mile times and 415 HP of raw Ford power. So just because you have a new Mustang, don’t think for a second that there aren’t old ponies out there ready to stomp you a new one.
What We’d Change
What’s not to like here? It’s black, mean, quick and doesn’t compromise on anything. Northern Dancer is a died in the wool street/strip contender.
