Car Club Corner: Relaxed Atmosphere

Welcome to Car Club Corner — a new feature here at FullOnCustom where we’ll feature custom vehicle clubs that catch our interest. First up: Relaxed Atmosphere, a SoCal-based club focusing on “mini-trucks,” but eschewing primer for full-on show vehicles — cars included.

Who/What/Where

Though originating in Southern California, Relaxed Atmosphere claims world-wide membership with chapters all across the USA and Canada. (It was founded by Mike Shartsis, then editor of Mini Truckin’ Magazine in 1994.) They welcome all types of vehciles — except traditional “Lowriders.” — and the club is populated mostly with lowered cars and trucks like the types you would find in the mini-truck scene.

Why

In the custom car and truck community there are three big “mini-truck” clubs: Severed Ties, Negative Camber, and Relaxed Atmosphere. Relaxed was started 15 years ago with the idea of offering the logo to only the highest quality cars and trucks. Since then the club has continued to remain strong and grow steadily.

Every year you’ll see several Relaxed rides at the SEMA show, which speaks volumes about their quality level. Why are they here? They’re one of the big three, that’s why.
