Ride of the Day: 2002 GMC Sonoma

Some people never grow up, and that’s good thing in our book. Take Richard from Alberta, for example. He dug Hotwheels so much as a kid that he decided to build one of his own as a daily driver. So he took a very bland-looking GMC Sonoma and turned it into a sweet-ass street cruiser.

Mods include:

  • Tenzo Intake
  • Flowmaster Exhaust
  • Helix Engine Comps.
  • Hypertech Perforamance Chip
  • Bilstein Shocks
  • Belltech Springs
  • GM Performance Parts Drivetrain / Trans.
  • Sweet Flame Graphics on the hood and doors

Why We Like It

Flames make almost anything better, and this truck isn’t short on them. Throw in the nostalgic Hotwheels effect — that reminds you that men are just kids with a bigger budget and less self control – and you start to get the concept behind it.

What We’d Change

We understand why he’s got the big wing on the back — it looks just like the original Hotwheels truck – but it does look a bit odd.
