Ride of the Day: 1991 Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger can’t run with the big trucks – unless it has a completely home built suspension system that allows four feet of travel to the front wheels. At that point you could put the little ranger almost anywhere just like this one that lives in Kentucky.

A list of the mods include:

  • Warn 8000 winch
  • Removable winch mount
  • Steering box for hydro assist steering
  • Huge Skyjacker Shocks
  • Massive Skyjacker Springs
  • Home built custom rollbars

Why We Like It

We dig anything that has a 4.0 liter engine and can roll over obstacles like a tank. That just appeals to us on a core level. Plus the fact that the guy who built this pretty much did the whole thing himself.

What We’d Change

This Ranger leads an active off-road life. With that in mind we would have to say a large rollcage is in order for a rig that were sure is put into places where flipping is a definite possibility.
