The resto-mod craze is in full swing, folks, and air conditioning is at the top of any southern-dweller’s “mod” list. Vintage Air has more or less defined the category of vintage air conditioning systems, because until they came along you were more or less stuck hacking up your interior (and firewall, too) to install a system from another vehicle. Vintage Air’s fully-integrated systems not only fit your car without hacking, they also put cool air where you need it as unobtrusively as possible, to keep your ride cool when the weather isn’t.

While Vintage Air has a line of Sure fit systems that are designed to fit a particular application, they also have a comprehensive system of universal components that you can adapt to fit any application. They’ve got components made to install pretty much anywhere – under dash, trunk mount, etc. Just make sure you check the link to see if they have an application for your classic ride.

Pricing will vary greatly, but you’re definitely looking at over $1,000 for most applications. Don’t forget to also check out their large selection of controls for their air conditioning systems. They’ve even got factory style climate control systems.

How hard are these to install on a classic that never had A/C? Or one that had factory A/C at one point, but the original owner pulled it off when it crapped out 20 years ago? Thanks in advance!
